Grand Rapids Community Theatre:
The Documentary
“Grand Rapids Community Theatre: The Documentary” is a heartfelt look behind the curtain of community theatre in Grand Rapids, exploring not just its rich history, but the people and passion that bring each production to life. Through candid interviews, and a 100-year history of photos and footage, the film highlights the collaboration, creativity, and resilience at the core of making community theatre. “The Documentary” is a celebration of community itself, capturing the triumphs, challenges, and shared purpose that turn neighbors into storytellers and a stage into something much bigger than the sum of its parts.
The film is Executive Produced by Teresa L. Thome and Patrick W. Ziegler; Directed and Edited by Todd Lewis; and features an Original Song by Scott Patrick Bell and Original Score by Todd Lewis. Thome, Ziegler and Lewis also serve as Producers. Seventy plus individuals were interviewed and more than 100 individuals, businesses and foundations contributed to make the project possible.
